Jenny - Forever in our hearts.

More than a mascot.

Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier Mix

DOB: August 2009

Jenny is the only dog in the pack that was raised from a puppy. Danny and Jenny met at the Humane Society when she was 4 weeks old and just 4 pounds. A staff member asked Danny to hold her for a second and it was love at first sight. He just couldn’t resist taking her home to the pack. Jenny has become the epitome of a great dog. She is one of the most happy-go-lucky dogs you’ll ever meet. Jenny has played an important role in the pack to show others when it’s playtime…”let’s do it”, but when the pack leader says play time is over…”it’s over”.  And if you have a water bottle that she thinks she might get her paws on, she’s your best friend. Jenny has come to be known as the mascot for Roughneck Rescue & Sanctuary.

Jenny passed away in January of 2023. She will be forever missed.

Danny

Jessie

Danny

Danny is part of the trio that was abandoned in the woods at just 2 months old.  When we got the triplets, they had severe mange and all three were completely bald and scabby and smelled of rotting flesh.

Danny's sister Sissy and brother Hulk have been adopted to great families.  Danny has grown into a very handsome guy.

Frank

Jessie

Danny

Frank is a special guy. He came to us as an owner surrender. The owner had wanted a female boxer, so Frank didn't quite fit the model he was hoping for and he just didn't really like Frank. So we took him in. He's a funny guy. Big block head with stubby little legs.

Jessie

Jessie

Jessie

Jessie is a beautiful girl,. She has been in two homes and both left her in a crate much of the day. Thankfully, she will not ever experience being left in a crate here at Roughneck rescue.

Monkey

Monkey

Jessie

Breed: Plott Hound/American Pit Bull Terrier Mix
DOB: September 2011

Monkey was abandoned in a hous

Monkey was abandoned in a house when he was about 4 months old. A rescue friend of ours called us to take him and we did. He is a lot of fun. For the first several months that he was with us, we called him Puppy. Now we affectionately call him Monkey, his name suits him.

Kuma

Monkey

Rambo

Kuma is a beautiful girl.  Danny adopted her to a family in 2010. In 2016 they called and said they couldn't keep her anymore. So she's back!  Kuma has the coolest eyes; one blue and one 1/2 blue and 1/2 brown, right down the middle.  She loves to run, so Danny and Kelly ride the bike with her. She loves it. Of course she gets plenty of time to run and play with the pack in the fenced in 5 acres.

Rambo

Monkey

Rambo

Rambo was brought to us with his brother from an animal cruelty case where they seized all of the animals, right down to the chickens.

Rambo is a very silly guy and at 85 pounds, thinks of himself as a lapdog. Rambo spends his days roaming around on the five fenced in acres, goofing around  with his pack and laying in the sun.

Petey aka Stinky

Petey aka Stinky

Petey aka Stinky

Petey was a stray brought to us by the local police department. He was malnourished, skinny, dirty and had a wire around his neck. He made himself right at home here with the pack and has flourished into a healthy, happy member of the pack. We affectionately call him stinky. He's an energetic young male, he's white and he's well always dirty. He's a lot of fun and a super-snuggler.

Rooster

Petey aka Stinky

Petey aka Stinky

Rooster was saved from a life living outside in a pen with the goats, mini pony and the roosters! Rooster's name is fitting don't you think?  His owner bought this cute little puppy that grew into a very large dog that had no training. His owner couldn't handle him so Rooster went in the pen. He is now  here at Roughneck Rescue & Sanctuary. Rooster is an absolutely stunning dog, tall and lanky.  When he is running through the field the joy on his face is priceless.

Chico

Petey aka Stinky

Chico

Chico came to Roughneck Rescue from the local police department. He was stray that camped out on a guy's front deck and he couldn't get out of his house. Danny got him here to the rescue to start working on his rehabilitation. Chico has some issues that Danny is working on. Chico will most likely live out his life here in sanctuary.

Daddy's story

Right-Hand Man

Breed: Rottweiler

Rescuing and rehabilitating Daddy, is where it all started for Danny Davis. It set Danny on a course that would change his life forever.  Daddy, a show-quality German Rottweiler, had a crooked tooth and therefore was not able to be in the show arena. He was surrendered to the humane society from a domestic dispute situation and was extremely aggressive.  The humane society put him in the very back of the kennels because of the frenzy he caused among the other dogs and the people coming to adopt dogs were scared to go near his kennel. When Danny started working with Daddy, he would get up on his hind legs growling and barking at everything and anybody. At 150 pounds, he looked like a bear.  Danny took him home and started work on his rehabilitation and Daddy became a different dog.  Everyone who had known him prior to his rehabilitation thought he was literally a different dog.

Daddy became one of the sweetest guys around. His aggression was non-existent and he was Danny's right-hand for many years in most rehabilitation cases and was especially helpful with aggressive and fearful cases.

Daddy was with Danny for many years helping to rehabilitate dogs. Sadly, he passed away in March of 2016 at 12 years old. We'll never be able to replace Daddy, but hope to find someone who can fill his role in the pack and help rehabilitate dogs with issues.

R.I.P Daddy - In our hearts forever.
